Should we be gores וסעודה or וסעורה in Onkelos?

Summary: A daled or a resh at the end of the word? Different Rashi's through Shas suggest different girsaot.

Post: In parashat Korach, Moshe speaks of how the rebellers will not receive the regular sort of death that others have. In Bemidbar 16:29, drawing the following from page 174 of a chumash available at temanim.org:

The word ופקדת is rendered וסעורא, and יפקד is rendered יסתער. There is actually a girsological choice here. As Chelek haDikduk explains at the botttom of the page:
"The Targum is וסעורא דכל אנשא, etcetera, with a resh we are gores. And Rashi in the fourth perek of Nedarim explains the language of סעד with a daled. Yet, in the gemara, Shabbat 12 there, Rashi wrote that it is language of סמך, support, and afterwards wrote in the name of his teacher, Rabbenu Yaakov, that it is a language of ביקור, visitation, and Rashi there writes upon it, that according to this we should be gores it with a resh, see there. And so was gores the Aruch in entry סר, see there."

This deserves a bit of elaboration. In Nedarim 40a, we have the following gemara:
There would seem to be no question in this gemara that סעד is the root throughout. After all, there are prooftexts from pesukim which use it.

In English:
R. Shisha son of R. Idi said: One should not visit the sick during the first three or the last three hours [of the day], lest he thereby omit to pray14  for him. During the first three hours of the day his [the invalid's] illness is alleviated; in the last three hours his sickness is most virulent.15
Rabin said in Rab's name: Whence do we know that the Almighty sustains the sick? From the verse, The Lord will strengthen him upon the bed of languishing.16  Rabin also said in Rab's name: Whence do we know that the Divine Presence rests above an invalid's bed? From the verse, The Lord doth set himself upon the bed of languishing.17  It was taught likewise: He who visits the sick must not sit upon the bed, or on a stool or a chair, but must [reverently] robe himself and sit upon the ground, because the Divine Presence rests above an invalid's bed, as it is written, The Lord doth set himself upon the bed of languishing.
Anyway, on this gemara, Rashi writes:

Thus, the gemara's לא לסעוד means 'do not visit', based on this pasuk in Korach and the translation. This would indicate that the word should be סעד, not סער. On the other hand, assuming this is the correct girsa in Rashi, on ה יסעדנו he begins with קרי ביה יסערנו. At any rate, this Rashi in Nedarim demonstrates Rashi's girsa of Onkelos in Korach.

Does this matter, practically? I don't think so. It is a matter of what סעד means, not a matter of what יפקד means local to Korach.

Meanwhile, on Shabbat 12b, we read:
Or, in English:
For R. 'Anan said in Rab's name, How do you know that the Divine Presence supports an invalid? Because it is written, The Lord supports him upon the couch of languishing.4  It was taught likewise: One who enters [a house] to visit the sick may sit neither upon the bed nor on a seat, but must wrap himself about5  and sit in front of him,6  for the Divine Presence is above an invalid's pillow, as it is said, The Lord supports him upon the couch of languishing. And Raba said in Rabin's name: How do we know that the Holy One, blessed be He, sustains the sick? Because it is said, The Lord supports him on the couch of languishing.
Rashi there comments:
