the difference in this cas...yes, somewhat related.<br /><br />the difference in this case is that they are making deductions from *The Alphabet* of Ben Sirah, which is different from the book of Ben Sirah. Sefer Ben Sirah was something Chazal had access to. The Alphabet of Ben Sirah is a <b>semi-pornographic</b> late work of fiction, perhaps intended as satire, based on Ben Sirah, but with the narrative sharing many features with that of Jesus and Merlin.
