The idiots surrounding him and misinterpreting him is a continuous matter. Here is one from back in March of this year. A report about Rav Kanievsky and mashiach doesn't need triple confirmation. It needs studious ignoring and instruction to the idiots to stop misinterpreting the Gadol's words and turning them (unwittingly) into a choizek.joshwaxmanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05149022516101476797noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5589564.post-26568115114241526622015-08-24T14:47:44.309-04:002015-08-24T14:47:44.309-04:00While I don't object to your interpretation of...While I don't object to your interpretation of what occurred in that room and I find it plausible, I object to your labeling some of those who surround Rav Kanievsky as "idiots" and considering it turning it into a "choyzek". To me, that sounds like harsh, slanderous talk about people not known to you during Elul.

Overeagerness does not translate to idiocy nor does it lead to mockery.

I'll admit: I suffer from overeagerness. I am eager for the Geula. Even overeager. I don't consider it a bad thing. You may think I'm an idiot, but there are others who certainly disagree.

While those who are anxious for the Geula, and, in its absence, signs of the Geula - may at times unintentionally misinterpret the words of our sages, my feeling is that it is only done with the best of intentions and pureness of heart - not ח"ו to "make choyzek". Just the opposite - it gives people the Emuna needed in these dark times. משא"כ, those who misinterpret the words of the sages in attempt to lower our Emuna, have no excuses.

(I'm not saying it was misinterpreted by you. I just don't know. I like siding on the side of Emuna.)

In addition, any comparison to The Boy Who Cried Wolf here is foolish. Believers know the wolf is coming - the question is when.

Regarding this story, it's just as plausible to believe that Rav Kanievsky is making a prediction. This is how it was heard, apparently. Rav Berger apparently understood it that way too.

There have been some very mixed messages coming from Rav Kanievsky recently. It's hard to know for sure which interpretation was meant until we hear it directly from him. The example from the suit was in a different time period (2006) and cannot necessarily have bearing on this case. We've heard other more recent statements coming from Rav Kanievsky for people to make Aliya ASAP that were verified authentic.

Again, I'm not saying you're wrong. Let's just wait to hear what he has to say before debunking Emuna-based news.yaakhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08179304707239865515noreply@blogger.com
