Miraculously that came true, as we know the 39 scuds did not hit their mark. The only person to die was an Israeli man who had a heart attack, unrelated to the scuds or the war.
Rebbes do not issue such random statements as "gas masks will not be needed" without having ruach haKodesh. (although these days that may not be the case, because these days we do not have someone of the calibre of the Lubavitcher Rebbe).Devorahhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00793434651294780439noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5589564.post-91691066009398662202011-02-08T14:18:18.448-05:002011-02-08T14:18:18.448-05:00a bracha from a tzaddik i can certainly believe. e...a bracha from a tzaddik i can certainly believe. even a bracha from a hedyot is no small matter, plus there is tzadik gozer veHakadosh Baruch Hu mekayem.

according to this link though, this particular fellow being cited, Rabbi Yaakov Goldstein, is the one to which this particular prediction is often attributed. i can see how it can go from an eerie fulfillment of other words, in this manner, to such a prediction, via broken telephone. on the other hand, this is just me Googling for about 2 minutes. it is certainly possible that there is something else out there...

kt,
joshjoshwaxmanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05149022516101476797noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5589564.post-77887527002268424742011-02-08T14:12:38.457-05:002011-02-08T14:12:38.457-05:00Forget the links, I personally remember him saying...Forget the links, I personally remember him saying it, and I personally remember it happening.

I can find a link to prove my point, and I guess I will have to, but I can promise you one thing: he said it and it happened.
Not only that, the timing was such that it was Purim everywhere in the world.

I can come up with many more such predictions from the Rebbe, but his ruach haKodesh was well known and documented thousands of times (yes thousands), and we've been down this road before.

You may have been too young to remember back to 1991, but I wasn't, and I vividly recall that time, because I had just received my own bracha from the Rebbe (via fax) and 10 months after that bracha was received, I gave birth to my son.Devorahhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00793434651294780439noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5589564.post-85365785867386054012011-02-08T13:52:17.450-05:002011-02-08T13:52:17.450-05:00regarding that famous prediction, see here:
"...regarding that famous prediction, see here:
"That Tuesday, the war began. He was called by the Pentagon and told he was going to Israel to support American soldiers there, instead of to Saudi Arabia. The U.S. wanted a Jewish senior chaplain to run spiritual matters in the Jewish state. And so “at no time did the Rebbe tell me that the war would end on Purim.” But the Rebbe’s words were confirmed. Chaplain Goldstein did not need a Megillah during the war, because it ended on the day before Purim. And he still has not visited Saudi Arabia, and has no plans to do so prior to the Mashiach’s arrival!"

kol tuv,
joshjoshwaxmanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05149022516101476797noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5589564.post-82537521651929595142011-02-08T13:48:30.753-05:002011-02-08T13:48:30.753-05:00I guess it was also a "coincidence" that...I guess it was also a "coincidence" that the Lubavitcher Rebbe predicted that the Gulf War would end on Purim....

(it did)

If I had time I could write a lot more about things he predicted that came true.

Suggestion: Stick to the Obama videos, and (l'havdil) lay off the Lubavitcher Rebbe.Devorahhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00793434651294780439noreply@blogger.com
