The women are all described as engaging in Torah study - "פקודין דאורייתא דלא זכו לקיימא לון בהאי עלמא משתדלי בהו ובטעמייהו בההוא עלמא". The women and men are in separate chambers during the day, but at night they join together with their appropriate mates in a spiritual union.
